Tasks & Objectives
Innovation, Networking and Knowledge Exchange
Innovation is not an end in itself; good undergraduate and postgraduate teaching must have the flexibility to adapt to ever-evolving needs, terms and opportunities and to prepare for a future that we cannot yet know. Thus, higher education providers can empower their students to use their knowledge, ideas and personalities to shape society both today and in the future.
With our foundation, the Federal and State governments have established an institution by which the capacity of higher education to adapt to an ever-evolving landscape can be sustained in the longer term. Higher education providers are supported in adapting more quickly and more effectively to emerging societal challenges and needs. We address the full spectrum of the German higher education landscape.
With this objective, we provide funding for projects chosen through research-driven selection procedures. These could be projects established within individual institutions or as part of a collaborative group of several institutions. In addition, we create networking opportunities for course designers, support the discussion of project results, successes and challenges of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and provide access to knowledge exchange.
